Ingredients Required:
500g basmati rice
600g fish fillets, cut into pieces
3 tbsp vegetable oil
2 onions, sliced
1 tsp ginger paste
1 tsp garlic paste
2-3 green chilies, sliced
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chili powder
Salt to taste
2 cups water
1 cup yogurt
1/2 cup chopped coriander leaves
1/2 cup chopped mint leaves
1 tsp garam masala
1 tbsp lemon juice
Fried onions, for garnish

Method:
1. Rice should be cleaned and soaked in water for 30 minutes.. 2. Heat oil in a pan and fry the fish pieces for a minute on each side. Keep aside.
3. In the same pan, add sliced onions and fry until they turn golden brown.
4. Add ginger and garlic paste and fry for another minute.
5. Add green chilies, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Fry for a minute. 6. Add 2 cups of water and bring to a boil.
7. Remove the rice from the soaked water and add it to the pan. Mix well and cover with a lid.
8. Cook until the rice is half done.
9. In a separate bowl, mix yogurt, chopped coriander leaves, mint leaves, garam masala, and lemon juice. Add the fish pieces and mix well.
10. Spread the fish mixture over the rice and sprinkle some fried onions on top.
11. Cover with a lid and cook on low flame until the rice is fully cooked.
12. Serve hot with a raita or salad.
