Rava Idli Recipe

 


Ingredients Required: 

1 cup rava (semolina) 

1 cup yogurt (dahi) 

1/2 cup water 

1/2 cup grated carrots 

1/2 cup peas 1/2 cup chopped coriander leaves 

1/2 tsp mustard seeds 

1/2 tsp cumin seeds 6-7 curry leaves 

1/2 tsp grated ginger 

1/8 tsp baking soda 

Salt to taste Oil for greasing idli moulds 


Method:

1. Dry roast the rava in a pan over medium heat until fragrant, but not browned. Keep aside. 

2. In the same pan, heat some oil and add the mustard, cumin seeds, curry leaves, and grated ginger. Allow to splutter. 

3. Add the grated carrots and peas, and sauté for a few minutes until the vegetables are cooked. 

4. Add the roasted rava, coriander leaves, salt, baking soda, yogurt, and water to the vegetable mixture. Mix well and allow to rest for 5-10 minutes. 

5. Grease the idli moulds with some oil. 

6. Pour the batter into the greased moulds and steam for 10-12 minutes. 

7. Once cooked, remove the idlis from the mould with the help of a spoon. 

8. Serve hot with chutney and sambar. Enjoy your delicious rava idlis!
